Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea —The stage is set for the highly anticipated 2024 SME Awards, and this year promises to be a milestone celebration. Ela Motors, the leading automotive company, has stepped forward as the 2024 Naming Rights Sponsor, infusing the event with prestige and support for local businesses. The awards will jointly celebrate its 5th anniversary with other long-serving sponsors, including TE PNG, CPL Group, Mama Bank, and MiBank, to honor the resilience and innovation of Papua New Guinea's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Their collective commitment underscores the vital role these businesses play in driving economic growth and community development.

This year's awards feature an impressive lineup of 30 SME categories, recognizing excellence across diverse sectors. But that's not all—five additional awards shine a spotlight on individual champions. Whether from the private sector, government, or NGOs, these unsung heroes have worked tirelessly to empower SMEs and foster sustainable growth.

The agriculture category makes a triumphant return, emphasizing the importance of rural development and sustainable practices. Four new awards have been introduced, bringing the total to five: Tourism and Culture, ICT, Professional Services, and Transport. Each category represents a critical piece of the economic puzzle, reflecting the multifaceted nature of SME contributions.
